The term inhalant refers to any common household product used to create a ''high.'' Because they are so inexpensive and easy to get, kids today have begun sniffing things such as paint, glue, lighter fluid, and cleaning solvents. These products contain chemicals that are poisonous and highly toxic. If you think your child might be getting high by inhaling, look for the following symptoms: paint on the face, or stains on clothing, red or runny eyes, sores around the mouth, loss of appetite, and irritability. When people are ''high'' from using inhalants they look and act as if they were drunk, and their breath has a chemical smell to it.
