Amphetamines

Common names include: Uppers, Beenies, Pep Pills, Speed, Crystal Meth, and Crank.

This latest drug craze may have already found its way into your home in the form of prescription medication. Amphetamines have been used for years to treat conditions such as ADHD, narcolepsy and, in years past, depression and obesity. They include medications such as Ritalin, Concerta, Adderall, and Dexedrine. Unfortunately, they are being sold by and to teens for quite a hefty price. Taking these drugs increases a person's energy level and suppresses their appetite, but it also leaves them exhausted and depressed. Not all amphetamines are legal in any dosage. Speed, Crystal Meth and Crank are especially dangerous street drugs.
