Common names include: Ecstasy, Adam, XTC, hug, X, MDMA, beans, Scooby snacks, E, and love drug. Commonly referred to as a ''club drug,'' Ecstasy is used most often at all-night dance parties called raves. Raves are usually described as ''alcohol free,'' however instead of alcohol, rave goers have the opportunity to experiement with many different illegal drugs. Ecstasy makes the user feel as if they were ''in love.'' It lessens sexual inhibition, and increases energy. During this period it also causes severe dehydration and muscle tension. People who have taken ecstasy have died from these symptoms. For some it was their first time trying the drug.
